Times 100 - 2008 Edition

I just learned about Time Magazine 100-most important people for 2008, and it came with some surprises. At N°15 appeared our president Michelle Bachelet, whose excerpt is written by Hillary Clinton (not surprinsingly she need to show to the world that women does rules in other countries, although she may not be much benefited if people knew about our real current reality here....). Too bad too that the other latin america president on the list was Evo Morales (well, at least she made it to the list).

Additionally, at N°78 appered one of my favourites living-artist, Takashi Murakami. We just had the opportunity to visit his solo-exhibition at The Museum of Contemporary Art at Los Angeles last November, where we bought two hand-signed prints. Some articles already considers him as the "Andy Warhol" of our time. Hope in the future his prints may worth +10k!!.

Boca - River

This Sunday will occur one of the biggest single-match Football event in the world, namely Boca-River super-classic at "La Bombonera". Looking forward to see a good match and a strong performance on the only Chilean player on the field (Alexis Sanchez).

Update (Sunday 8pm). I was distracted by Palmeiras vs Ponte Preta match that defined Paulista's 2008 Champion. Jorge Valdivia plays for Palmerias, and is one of the few chileans that really succeded at brazilian football. Match finished 5-0 to Palmeiras, including an exceptional goal from Valdivia (3-0) and hat-trick from top-scorer Alex Mineiro.

Additionally, Real Madrid won "La Liga" and Villareal continues at solid second position (+4 points over Barcelona at third), Bayern Munich won Bundesliga and Manchester United expects to finally win English Premier League on its last round next week.

P.D. Boca won 1-0 over River after Battaglia's goal during first half of the match.

Creative Destruction

"Creative Destruction" as described by Alan Greenspan in his book "The Age of Turbulence" represents a cornerstone for Economics and if too often poorly understood.

El "Rombo" and Randy Pausch

A couple of weeks ago I attended an unusual training that may be qualified as "How to realize that your destiny is up to you, and in the process do not blame others". Basically, every time that we come to a desicion-moment (usually under some stress), we need to think "effectively" aroud four pillars: 1) How am I going to achieve my results, 2) How do I feel, 3) How do others feels and 4) What am I going to learn from this. This was called the "rombo". Need to practice on this.

Last week, I found this video on facebook that goes in line with that training Randy Pausch video.
